Visiting Acadia Park

Just about every year, over Father’s day weekend in June, the Borne family visits Acadia National Park, near Bar Harbor on Mt. Dessert Island, Maine.

We pitch our tents at Mt. Dessert Campground, located on the top of Somes Sound, near the town of Somesville. In the early days we did a lot of biking, but more recently, we take day hikes to the tops of mountains or along the coast. The photo on the right, taken by Minga Claggett-Borne, is looking down to the ocean on the path to Thunder Hole.
